Now applying knowledge and skills learned through the Construction Management Program at Eastern Kentucky University in real time as the Production Intern at Kalkreuth Roofing & Sheet Metal. Through this internship, I aid the project managers and estimating team in establishing efficient production. This involves participating in rolls crucial to a successful commercial construction project. These rolls include performing quantity takeoffs, such as a full roofing system for a UPS 747-class aircraft maintenance hangar at Louisville International Airport. Along with executing construction documents, I also track production for various projects. One of which includes keeping a data sheet of daily production for roofing coating warranty at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky. In my final internship as a Construction Management student, I am searching for work underneath a project manager for a general contractor to determine if I start my career as a project manager for a general or subcontractor. Due to its specialization in the industry, Kalkreuth Roofing & Sheet Metal is a subcontractor. As a result, instead of one large-scale project, our project managers tackle many projects simultaneously. I am pursuing all internship offers, but would enjoy work underneath a general contractor to establish the path I would like my career to follow.
