I am a graduate of the Master of Public Affairs program at Brown University, longtime political volunteer, and inveterate city-dweller seeking ways to make urban areas efficient, functional, and enjoyable places to live and work in the 21st century. I think there is untapped potential of studying solutions that have worked in different places (and, drawing on my strong background in history, different eras) and finding ways to adapt them to solve modern challenges facing not just the United States but countries throughout the world. I'm particularly interested in working on matters relating to infrastructure, public transportation, and climate change, alongside finding ways to remedy economic inequality, bad and overly-car-centric urban planning, governmental corruption, and the loss of cultural and historical heritage.

This involved accessing the Montana State Historical Society Archives in Helena, Montana, and the National Archives in Washington, D.C., for legislative and other political documents, books, diaries, reports, and other relevant material. My findings will eventually be used to produce at least one publishable article on this topic and its impacts on both state and national politics and legislation.
