About Connor Phillips
I am postbaccalaureate researcher at the National Institutes of Health studying the EEG of movement in cerebral palsy. I am working with a team of engineers, neuroscientists, and rehabilitation specialists to develop an EEG-based deep-learning BCI. Due to the effects of minor cerebral palsy in my lower extremities, I have required the support of a variety of ankle foot orthosis (AFO's) to increase range of motion and lengthen my muscles. By having access to such medical care, I was able to correct a large amount of impairment that would have otherwise significantly reduced my quality of life. It is my hope that the expertise I gain from my degree and internship opportunities will allow me to help expand access to the technology that I have benefited so greatly from.
