Brought a developer-first mindset to the DevOps team, enabling the team to write better code, faster. Continuing to bring a lucid and concise approach to explaining new technologies to the team as well as writing documentation and flowcharts to describe the architecture of new and existing projects.• Established and championed Terraform coding architecture and design standards, peer review processes, and implemented various examples of how to implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt. This enabled more engineers to implement code within the same project(s) in a safer, faster, and easier way. This, in turn, enabled the DevOps team to bring more business value, faster.• Implemented automation using AWS Lambda and Python. Set standards for how automation is implemented in Python, including unit testing, documentation, and code cleanliness and organization. This allowed for arduous, manual tasks to be automated in such a way to where the next engineer can understand what is happening and why. This, in turn, enabled the DevOps team to bring more business value elsewhere and let the automation handle the rest.• Trained up two team members on AWS and Terraform. One of the team members passed the AWS Certified Developer Associate exam. The other team member became a team lead. This resulted in the DevOps team becoming more competent and confident as a whole. This in turn enabled the team to deliver more business value, better.• Implemented an industry-leading Zero Trust Network Access software rollout across all eXp AWS tenants. This enabled the DevOps team to remove public access to AWS resources, thus resulting in greatly enhanced perimeter security across the company.

Transformed and established DevOps practices which were adopted throughout the iClicker organization. Implemented backend APIs and services to support the iClicker Cloud product.• Containerized, implemented blue/green no-downtime deployment capabilities, and configured continuous integration/continuous delivery of the flagship iClicker API applications. This resulted in: a dramatic improvement in deployment time, from hours at midnight on the weekend to minutes during business hours; increased availability; increased deployment frequency; better mean time to recovery.• Implemented infrastructure as code templates defining the iClicker infrastructure in all environments. This resulted in: safer, simpler provisioning of environments; improved disaster recovery.• Implemented secrets management on the application side and on the infrastructure side in order to adhere to security best practices.• Automated DevOps tasks including scaling up/down production API services daily, tagging cloud resources for billing purposes, etc. This resulted in increased efficiency and cost/time savings in regards to performing manual DevOps tasks and cloud provider costs.• Implemented backend APIs involving: Java Servlets/Apache Tomcat, Kotlin/Spring Boot, MongoDB, and Redis, and the WebSocket protocol and the Pusher Channels third-party service for real-time communication between backend and frontend.• Implemented Spring Security OAuth 2.0 resource and authorization servers in Kotlin/Spring Boot in an effort to modernize authentication of the flagship iClicker APIs.
