Conducting graduate research of anchor bolt failure in cantilevered overhead sign structures and high-mast light poles. Research examines anchor bolt tightening procedures, applicability of standards, fatigue design, structural fastener theory, and anchor bolt material properties. Research includes a review of existing research, field studies, controlled laboratory testing, and finite element analysis. Beyond technical scope, position includes general project management duties, appropriating funds, technical writing, collaborating with the client, and oral presentations.

Completed initial to final design of pipe rack, truss, and landing support structures of petrochemical facilities. Used ASCE 7 to calculate design loads for modeling in RISA 3D. Developed accurate RISA models and troubleshooted issues and errors that arose. RISA outputs were taken to design baseplate, bracing, moment, and splice connections in RAM Connection. AISC Steel Construction Manual and ACI 318 were used to design stiffener plates and concrete pedestals. Experience using AutoCAD for connection and pedestal sketches, as well as Hilti Profis for post-installed anchor design. Reviewed detailed drawings from CAD support staff and vendors.Another project included analysis of existing concrete beams and slab. Designed a retrofit option to enable the existing members to handle new loading.
