We learned in classrooms located at either St. Peter's Hospital in Albany or Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, through traditional methods (lecture, reading, research, writing and focused study), and through rotations. Rotations were structured observations of professionals and procedures in a career field. We spend from one day to three weeks in 40 to 50 clinical and administrative areas of the hospital. Rotations include radiation, oncology, the operating room, pharmacy, psychiatric units, rehabilitation, the business office and even maintenance.
