After cutting my teeth in the data and analytics space, I decided to take on a new challenge as a software engineer within the same sub-domain of the business. This allows me to broaden my skillset and have a more immediate impact on the business while still leveraging the business knowledge and understanding gained after the last two years.

I am part of a team of eight data engineers building analytics data products, under the Data Mesh architectural paradigm, around the providing of deliveries and services to IKEA customers globally. Began the thesis internship with the intention to write my thesis on the comparison of sentiment data providers and their implementation in quantitative investment and trading strategies. Spent most of my time working on automating and streamlining data-intensive processes for the business such as a command line tool which automated the requesting and retrieval of large data files from an SFTP server via a Microsoft Excel request form.

I worked as a food and beverage associate at the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Centre while I in the process of completing my masters at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I was working full-time from January to August and worked part-time beginning in September. My duties included working as a waiter in Stripes (the main hotel restaurant), a barman at The Gate (the main hotel bar) and working in the in room dining department.

Worked as a rental sales agent. Duties included manning the counters and assisting customers with bookings, quoting customers, managing the branch's vehicle availability, organizing vehicles for uncommon bookings as well as opening and closing of the branch, cashing-up and completing reports on a given day's vehicle movements and cash intake.

Worked at the Birmingham Marriott Hotel as a Food and Beverage Associate. Duties included serving of guests for banqueting events, serving guests dining at the in-house restaurant, West 12 Bar & Grill, from the à la carte menu and serving and interfacing with guests ordering room service.
