Profile bio

About Connor Dalgaard

I am a passionate mental health policy activist and student at Vassar College. As a teenager, I developed a passion for mental health advocacy after noticing the disconnect between scientific, political, social, and generational views on mental health. I have been fortunate enough to collaborate with some of the nation's leading mental health nonprofit organizations, including Mental Health America, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Inseparable. Additionally, I have worked with Rare Beauty, the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, and the PA Youth Advocacy Network to learn more about the political, legal, and social systems domains of mental health. I have spoken to thousands and written to hundreds of thousands about the dire need to reform our mental health systems, especially those serving youth. At Vassar, I major in psychological science and minor in economics. I have also taken numerous courses, including Ancient Greek, in the Greek & Roman studies department. Regarding research, I assist Professor Allan Clifton with data analysis in his Social Networks and Personality Lab. I am an active leader of Vassar's student government, peer-run mental health chat line, house team, Title IX Policy Advisory Committee, and Student Teacher Engaged Pedagogical Partnership program. In the future, I hope to merge my passion for mental health policy activism with the practicality of law. If you'd like to connect about mental health policy, law, student activism, public speaking, or writing, please email me at cdalgaard@vassar.edu.
