In my time with Nelson Mullins, I was a litigation attorney focusing on financial and consumer credit disputes, bankruptcy, real estate, tax appeals, and natural resources. I performed all stages of the litigation process from start to finish. Routine duties included research and writing of pleadings and dispositive motions, providing clients with regulatory compliance advice, discovery and hearing preparation and attendance, as well as the authorship of several state appellate briefs. I additionally represented and advised pro bono clients in a variety of litigation matters, worked in multi-district asbestos litigation, and assisted in real estate and transactional work in Southern West Virginia and throughout greater Appalachia.

As the term law clerk for Bankruptcy Judge David L. Bissett of the Northern District of West Virginia, I worked in chambers, seeing the bankruptcy process from filing to discharge. Duties included daily research and hearing preparations, communications with bankruptcy practitioners, opinion research and drafting, attending hearings and trials, and coordination with local organizations to assist in organizing bankruptcy education events throughout West Virginia.

As a summer law clerk with AppalReD's Barbourville office, I was responsible for assisting office attorneys with providing free legal services to low-income residents of six Kentucky countries. These duties included drafting motions, briefs, and orders in addition to attending frequent court appearances and client intakes. The office primarily provided family law services, such as divorce and custody, but additionally offered a wide variety of civil representation, including social security, bankruptcy, eviction, and criminal expungements.

Pennsylvania 7Th District

As the campaign manager of Tim Silfies’ campaign team, I was responsible for essential duties in a grassroots third-party campaign for US Congress. Duties included coordinating events and appearances, communications with state and national Libertarian Party officials, over 100 hours going door to door, assisting with social media efforts (specifically Facebook marketing) and other direct strategic advising to the campaign.

Observed hearings and trials in the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas under the Hon. Judge Beltrami. Charges were primarily pertaining to DUIs, theft, drug offenses, and PFAs.

As a member of the sports staff of the No. 8 collegiate newspaper in the country, I was a beat reporter and editorial commentator. Duties included attending games and media conferences to gather content for feature articles and game write-ups. I wrote and published approximately two to four articles a week, and covered a national champion rifle team and national runner-up soccer team.

As the LUSD Clinic's first media/PR intern, I was essentially given the ability to create my own position. Duties included communications with Land Use lawyers, mayors, and county commissioners throughout the state, photography, web design, event planning, and more. As a whole, this internship provided me with an ability to interact in a government forum with mayors, city councilmembers, and other public officials in Pro Bono discussion of land use planning, environmental law, and economic revitalization throughout the state of West Virginia.

In my second / third year with the West Virginia University hockey team, I was named team photographer. Duties included attending home games and several road trips to gather professional-level photographs. After editing, photos were uploaded to a team gallery to be used for social media and promotional use, as well as to allow players, parents, and fans to view and download for personal use.

As a summer marketing communications intern, I assisted with a variety of Marketing Communications and Advertising projects. These projects included product launch literature, product brochures and informational flyers, and videos going inside the company. I also photographed the comapny's tools being used at several NASCAR races and hometrack races.

As the youngest member of the intern team, I was mentored in the art of play-by-play and broadcasting and acted as a fill in color commentator for live broadcasts. In the mean time, assisted with public outreach which included communicating with local radio and newspaper stations to promote the team and taking game photography for promotional use. Broadcasting duties included keeping stats and doing intermission statistical analysis on air. Also ran the production of broadcast for several games which included working the camera, controlling broadcast graphics and special effects, and ensuring smooth production of the feature.

As a Media Relations Intern for the brand new AHL team, assisted with communication between media, officials, management, and players. Duties included assisting with accommodation of local media outlets as well as delivering official statistic reports to officials and team coaches. Assisted with the conduction of post-period and post-game interviews and press conferences.
