After graduating from the MS in Biomedical Engineering Program at Duke University, I began my career in Healthcare Data Science. I started as a Data Science Fellow for AI Health, an organization within the Duke School of Medicine that aims to discover, develop, and implement AI for health at Duke and beyond. My work with AI Health has been broad, and I have been involved in all aspects of integrating machine learning models into clinical workflows, from raw data extraction to final product evaluation. When my two-year fellowship ended, I took some time to thru-hike the Continental Divide Trail before joining the team at Edge Analytics, a boutique data science consulting firm. While at Edge, I worked on applications for machine learning across a wide variety of disciplines, from using generative imaging for advertising to applying time series forecasting for energy demand prediction and more. With the explosion of LLMs and generative AI, this year I began working with Pyxos on the application of these advances to data privacy compliance. At Pyxos, our goal is to interpret and automate data privacy compliance, and working with them has given me the opportunity to explore exciting new generative technology. Beyond my professional interests, I am an avid baker, gardener, musician, and triathlete. My interests are always expanding, and I believe that a broad knowledge base and diverse life experiences are key to leading a fulfilling life.
