My partner and I built our experiential entertainment business in the early days of the unproven escape room industry. We are still operating successfully eight years later, with five distinct ticketed experiences at our physical location, and occasional pop-up experiences and community events.Storefront operations and our staff of twelve are managed by my business partner, while I lead technical and business operations, including back-end system management, finance, marketing, etc.Together, we built all aspects of the business from the ground up. Design, build, install, and operation of our escape games, collaborating with contractors, artists, and technicians to deliver innovative, high-tech, high-production value, artfully immersive experiences.

Scripps News is the national TV news network of the E.W. Scripps Company.In my broad capacity leading post-production for the network, I was primarily responsible for who and how video content was produced.— Reported directly to the head of Scripps News; sat on senior leadership team and contributed to crafting and executing organizational strategy— Entrepreneurial leader; collaborated with other division leaders to set priorities for my department, and to identify and solve cross-functional problems— Managed post-production people; day-to-day resource management, long-term project management, professional development, and team leadership for full-time and freelance video editors— Managed post-production creative; established and enforced video editing style standards, in close collaboration with other design leads across the enterprise— Managed post-production process; designed, implemented, and supported video workflows for technical and non-technical staff alike, dotted-line project management of all video content edited at the network— Managed post-production systems; product owner or key stakeholder for every technical system in our content operations stack, collaborating closely with our engineering and IT leaders and vendor partners to implement, maintain, and improve our tools— Primary support and training for video systems and workflows; designed and led trainings for the full staff, departments and teams, and individuals, including onboarding all new hires, and provided all-hours remote support for newsroom staff and field teams— Recruited and hired post-production staff; functioned as hiring manager for all video editors at the network, and contributed to the interview process for most content operations hires

In addition to the above job functions, I previously also managed our graphics department, which entailed a larger ownership of the brand’s creative direction. As the network grew, we built out a more prominent, centralized creative services department and spun off our motion graphics team.

Prior to the launch of our cable news network, I managed all aspects of production for the company. This included all of the above post-production job functions, as well as creative, operations, equipment, and personnel management of videography and studio production.

I joined Scripps News (then Newsy, an early stage digital news startup) to help the company mature and scale production operations. I developed and implemented workflows and shaped our visual storytelling style, while also producing content from the field, contributing to reporting around the world.

KOMU is Mid-Missouri's NBC affiliate station.I worked as a video editor supporting live newscasts, and as a photographer, shooting and producing local news reporting in the field.

Cooperative Media Group was the University of Missouri-Extension network's internal media agency.I worked as a video editor, producing editorial content showcasing the diverse work of the network across the region.
