Connor has 7 years’ experience as a marine/environmental scientist, with demonstrated knowledge and expertise across ecological scientific methods, data collection, data analysis, and report writing. He possesses refined skill and sensitivity when engaging with internal and external stakeholders, field teams and team leaders. Connor also has knowledge and understanding of Western Australian environmental legislation, and proven ability to prepare all relevant documentation for a spread of approvals and environmental regulatory compliance. Connor has participated in several research field trips within Western Australia, performing scientific dives and using a range of research vessels. Areas of expertise:- Research in environmental management and marine ecology- Writing grant applications, risk assessments and management plans- Environmental legislation, including Mining Act 1978 and Environmental Protection Act 1986 - Environmental assessments, specifically with PoWs, AERs and desktop assessments- Statistical analysis and design using R, SPSS, PRIMER, and bioinformatics packages Mothur and Megan6- Ability to develop and implement a scientific study and field work design, sample analysis and data interpretation- Expertise in ArcGIS and TransectMeasure with benthic habitat mapping
