Hello, my name is Connor Dilworth, I am an Industrial Engineering major, and I love trying to make things better. There’s always some way to improve. I graduate in May, and I’m looking for full-time employment after college. My skills include Excel, public speaking, and leadership. Over two summers, I worked as an Industrial Engineering Intern at American Axle and Manufacturing. I spent my time checking through their models for flex labor, making sure that the data submitted by the manufacturing plants matched the standards put in place by corporate. After that was complete, I moved on to setting the foundation for an overhaul of their capacity models. I input all of their part numbers and important data so that the professionals could input the more specific data. At the end of both summers, I presented my work to the company's Operating Committee. This experience helped me understand the corporate flow of information, and presenting to a large group of high-ranking people. I am the president of UD’s Fantasy and Science Fiction Appreciation Club, and I came on at a time when member retention and population were at their lowest. But I spearheaded a rebrand to change our name to the “Nerd Herd” to represent our club’s identity better and bring on new members. I know it sounds strange, but everyone involved loves the new name, and we’ve had higher member retention since because it better represents them. They care about the club again, and I care about how anything I am attached to represents itself, I hope that you see me as a good representation of what your company wants in an employee.
