Working in front line direct service with people who use substances from within a harm reduction framework. Providing supplies and education around safer injection and vein care techniques, overdose prevention/reversal, and HCV/HIV transmission risk factors. Practicing Active Listening and Motivation Interviewing techniques to listen for, develop, and affirm change talk around substance use, mental/medical issues, or lifestyle changes. Linking participants with services to meet other important needs that are outside our program's scope. Providing these services through street outreach that meets people where they are at. Facilitating harm reduction groups. Organizing and coordinating health fairs where multiple providers come together to offer comprehensive access to medical care, substance use treatment, STI testing, vaccination, syringe access and other services. Working tightly on a team of talented people to do all of this, and to constantly be looking for ways to improve our program and the quality of service we provide to the community.

From within a harm reduction framework, providing safe injection equipment and disposing of used materials, peer counseling, community outreach/education, linkage to additional services (medical, housing, legal, mental health) and overdose prevention training. Beyond the public health benefits of these services, it is also important to me to make a space where people can be frank and honest about their lives, how they live them, and where they're at. Additionally responsible for maintaining and organizing our stocks at the Harm Reduction Center on Sixth Street and for our mobile sites.

Worked on several projects for the analytical department developing chromatographic methods on HPLC and UPLC systems, the validating these methods, and translating them into official SOPs. Documented these results as well as QC testing as per GxP requirements. Also performed R&D for evolving projects.Additionally developed and applied several coulometric Karl Fischer Titration methods for process analytical testing, building the resulting data into an organized body and discussing critical results through presentations to both technical and general audiences.

Organic synthesis with a wide variety of applications, from medicinal chemistry to the development of new synthetic methods. Analysis of products using a wide variety of techniques such as GCMS and NMR, as well as computational modeling using ChemDraw and Gaussian.

Patient advocate and member of the trauma team, cleaning, sample delivery, patient transport and liaison between medical staff and patient's family. Gave primary training to volunteers during the last four months of my volunteering.

Performed a wide variety of laboratory procedures including PCR, nucleic acid preparations, bacterial transformation and culture growth with the aim of examining the role of mutations in a specific HIV gene, Tat, in contributing to latent HIV infection.
