Residential Adviser
As a Resident Adviser I am tasked with networking, administrating, and planning programs for the residence hall I currently live in.I have been networking with all the freshmen students so that they know someone that they can come to if they are having trouble in school work or have incidences that need to be reported. Along with my own networking I challenge my residents to network with each other and because of our staffs early work during the start of move in we have several groups of people who are good friends.Administrative duties include the documenting of Alcohol incidents in the hall, performing health and safeties, performing lock outs, serving on-call and opening and closing of the hall. I have been personally awoken a few times during the middle of the night to deal with issues.Senior year I was involved in the hiring process of several individuals for the RA position. Through interviews and giving personnel recommendations for future HRC staff members I was able to select people who exemplified the HRC mission and who were truly interested in helping and developing fellow students. As an RA I have had my hand in the setting up and planning of several programs throughout the school year. These programs ranged from quick little get together to watch a movie, building wide programs that included dinner, and to area wide programs that included several of the residence halls.

Development Lead
As a Development Lead in the Capstone I worked on a team to help improve the user interface for the CCS for their financial reporting software. Using an Agile methodology we had a total 4 three week sprints. This was a continuation project that was not completed the previous year’s team. As an upper clansman in the program I helped mentor and coach new Capstone students on client communication and how to ask client questions for getting project requirements. As a result, we were able to get better client communication about expectations and project requirements. Working with the Project Manager and Client Sponsor I assisted with the team on setting up an oracle instance on a back-end server to be used for testing. Previous teams could not install the instance correctly and with the back-end server up and running it helped reduce the overhead time for development and testing for our project.Working with the development team I worked to structure SQL statements that pulled from the client's test database and then tested on the client’s end production environment.

Global Team Member
While working for Target I started out as a cashier and my managers or GSTLs (Guest Service Team Leaders) saw I had a passion to serve and to learn. With my own persistence to get trained in different areas to better serve the store, the GSTLs sent me to get trained in areas where they required the most help. As a result of that, besides being a cashier I have been trained in the following departments Electronics Team Member, Pharmacy Cashier, Sales Floor Team member, Guest Service Team Member, Photo Lab Team Member, Cart Attendant, I was also made a team trainer within my first 90 days. I was offered the position of an assistant manager or GSA (Guest Service Assistant) but due to being in school I was unavailable to take that position because it was full time.In all my roles I learned about the importance of learning superb guest service and living out the Target store culture of Fast, Fun, & Friendly.
Freshmen Adviser
During my time as a freshman adviser I had planned different community events for my hall, I advertised events around campus and helped with conflict resolution. As a Freshmen Adviser I spent a lot of time with my residents more than the RA's so I would know about problems that people may not have felt comfortable going to the RA for. I was able to bridge a gap between the RAs and the residents to provide a better living communityI helped with planning of small events on my hall of 100 plus students, I also was very active in my goal of meeting and talking with my residents at least once a week. I made these meeting to be a very low key and made sure they felt comfortable to talk to me. I set up my bill board to promote in hall and on campus events this was my way to connect people with resources if I wasn't able to catch them during the week they would at least know about different events the university was putting on.

To provide encouragement and support for those who did not reach their goals on that particular day.Charged with being the Dock Master for the day I had to manage to directing 8-12 boats to get onto and off the dock safely and efficiently.
