At Niner, I started doing odd jobs fixing and improving things on test equipment. This grew into designing and fabricating new machines. I gained experience in designing, setting up, and troubleshooting data acquisition systems using DASYLab and DAQami. Fabrication included machine work on a manual vertical mill and manual turning center to produce parts that I would later weld together using MIG welding methods.In addition to product testing, I assisted with quality assurance, performing everything from random spot checks to full stock quality control. I worked with the warranty department to address problems as they arose, to limit them from becoming larger problems.Lastly, I spent time riding prototypes to provide real world feed back, to help verify designs.

At Project 321, I was involved in all steps of manufacturing. Starting with unloading material from flatbed trucks operating a fork lift, to cutting raw material to the correct cut length. I gained experience setting up both VMC and turning center CNC machines, proving out programs, and verifying initial tolerances. During production runs, I was responsible for maintaining tolerances. Parts consisted mostly of automotive and bicycle components, made from a wide variety of steel and aluminum alloys. In addition to operating CNC machines, I also performed the majority of the preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
