Graduate Engineer
My three month contract at Membrane Systems Australia PTY LTD (MSA) as a Graduate Engineer involved undertaking the following tasks:- Feasibility, concept and detailed design of water and wastewater treatment systems- Liaising with clients and contractors in a junior project management role to facilitate project delivery within the specified timeline - Creating, modifying and reviewing plant P&IDs- Process safety assessments, including being involved in the HAZOP team- Site inspections and Root Cause process investigations - Creating documentation for MSA’s Quality Management system
Undergraduate Engineering Student
Involved in an ongoing bio-additive dosing optimisation project of CTTG’s 1.5 ML/d waterreuse facility.Key roles:- Perform laboratory tests simulating sequenced batch reactor operating conditions to assessthe effects of the addition of a bio-additive in reducing ammonia and nitrates concentrationand determine the optimum dosing strategy- Assess the performance of the bio-additive in conjunction to the use of existing coagulants- Perform daily TNT laboratory testing of several sampling points to provide data of plant KPI’s- Discussing day-to-day plant control methodology with site engineer and plant operator
Undergraduate Engineering Student
As part of my undergraduate course requirements I undertook a 12 week unpaid work placement at SA Water. During my time at SA Water I undertook a feasibility study of assessing the capability and requirements of Adelaide's three metro wastewater treatment plants to reduce their power consumption. The primary aim was to achieve this by increasing the reliance on electricity generated from on-site produced biogas that is combusted in combined heat and power gas engines.Key aspects of the project included:- Utilising excel to perform calculations using raw data to determine: thermodynamic performanceof gas engines, sludge and gas flow rates, composition of treated sludge, performance of anaerobicdigesters and modelling future predicted inflow based on population growth.- Determining parameters affecting plants’ ability to increase biogas-generated electricity.- Conducting optimisation feasibility assessments to determine infrastructure requirements toincrease power generation using biogas.- Evaluating effectiveness of trade-waste use at Bolivar over its one-year trial period.- Making recommendations to improve onsite-energy production improvement for the three plants- Presenting the findings and recommendations of the feasibility study to Assets Management
Casual Bicycle Mechanic/Salesperson
I had a dual role as one of the stores mechanics and sale-persons, where I undertook customer repairs and services along with building store display bicycles. In addition I provided retail sales service to customers to ensure they have a positive experience with Specialized products.
