Visual Arts Portfolio: Terrill.designI earned a Bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing from the University of Kansas, which helped me become a part of the early childhood education system at the Goddard School. Teaching allowed me to practice creative writing through creating engaging lesson plans, and I grew immensely as an individual and as a professional during the years I spent in education. However, I decided to pursue a career in content strategy and marketing in an effort to explore my creative side further. I am interested in all forms of creative production, from technical manuscript writing to poetry to animation. In 2022, I authored and illustrated the children's book "Chloe Jane and the Doodlecorn" to read to my pre-K class, and was introduced to the Adobe Creative Suite.The process of teaching myself to edit and format my work in Adobe Illustrator reignited my passion for creative production, and I began researching various design softwares. Since publishing my book, I have returned to school to study Animation and Game Art, focusing on creative software for 3D modeling, graphic design, motion effects, and illustration.Professionally, I enjoy developing creative solutions to problems and I view collaboration as a means of growth. I believe it is important to give back to the community, which is why worked as a teacher for several years. Luckily, I found a role at Lifted Logic that allows me to use my strengths to build up my community in a different way.Since beginning my role as Junior Content Strategist at Lifted Logic, I have come to learn a lot about my team, the industries we operate in, and the relationships we build in our community. I was afforded the opportunity to learn marketing strategies and eventually assumed some additional responsibilities within that department. I am proud and excited to be a part of this Lifted Logic collective, and continue to enjoy learning new things daily. The momentum and energy of their vision of growth coupled with their investment in Kansas City makes the work very meaningful to me.Someday, I would consider a role in which I can contribute to the design, animation, and/or writing of a major project. I thoroughly love 3D animation, and I’ve had a career at Blizzard Entertainment in my sights since 2022. In the mean time, I am enjoying the challenges in front of me and learning from my amazing colleagues at Lifted Logic.
