I’ve been talking to farmers who have begun making investments into digital tools, and a common rhetoric is “I have all this data from different sources but I don’t know how to bring it all together.”While large organisation have the resources to invest teams of data, automation and communication specialists, smaller farms do not. I want to explore the barriers to entry for farms to invest in data systems, what to do with it and how to combine it to produce valuable insights.

Part of the inaugural production team to commission Ridley’s new $50 million extrusion plant for the production of Salmon feeds into Tasmania and New Zealand. Helped establish the quality assurance processes and laboratory, trained operators on all aspects of aquafeed production. Redesigned OEM die plates to be more ergonomic and safer to install.

Commission, manage and operate $2 million-300kg/hr extrusion pilot plant. Developed new products with Engineering and R&D teams primarily for aquaculture, but also for retail pet feeds and agriculture. Created processes in Microsoft SharePoint, Flow and Power Apps to manage and automate the administrative tasks. Designed parts, produced process flow drawings and P&IDs in AutoCAD.
