I lead one undergraduate introduction to data science course in lectures and interactive discussion with hands-on coding assignments. Through research and resource gathering, I prepared my own lecture materials, assignments, and exams. To enhance the course, I guided student groups through a semester long project working on end to end data science workflows. Even in the fully online environment, I interacted with the students using engaging question and polling, to help keep the classroom participation high. Similar to Adjunct or Graduate Student Instructor, each semester I lead one to two courses in lectures and interactive discussion with hands-on coding assignments. I have been teaching an introduction to computing with Python course, helping students learn the foundations of computational problem solving. In Spring 2020 I've also lead the upper level introduction to data science course, where I've created my own lecture materials, assignments, exams, and guided students through a semester long project. I have coordinated with my Teaching Assistants to ensure our students have an interactive learning environment, proctor the exams, and help to create and review the course content. In addition to the lesson plans, I also add my own content with additional problem solving techniques and help students with personal projects to explore different areas of computing.

Working under Professor Amy Hoover in the Department of Informatics, we looked into the effect of Artificial Intelligence on different games. We wanted to answer how artificially intelligent agents can be created to be fair, and yet at the same time challenging when played against. We based our study on the pre-existing AI "Sabberstone" which was developed for the card game Hearthstone. I helped edit the open source code to output the total frequencies of cards played by the computer. Between us and the NYU team we worked with, we wrote a paper which we are looking to submit for peer review.

I was responsible for helping over 1000 new students adjust to NJIT by creating a welcoming sense of community and guiding students throughout the program and beyond. I actively met with students and keep in contact with them to make sure they are on the right track. As temporary administrative coordinator, I formatted the orientation website using wix.com and utilized Microsoft Excel to keep an active database of all students involved in the program.
