Fitch Lab research in Neuroscience related to long-term behavioral consequences of early disruptions of brain development in rodents. Models we study include: early hypoxic-ischemic injury typical of premature and very low birth weight infants, as well as infants injured at birth; and induced anomalies associated with atypical cortical development and neuronal migration. My responsibilities working in the Fitch Lab include; animal handling, behavioral testing, anatomic quantification, and other forms of data collection.I have completed the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative program (CITI) for research-animal handling. The completed CITI courses are as follows: UConn IACUC Review, Working with Mice in Research Settings and Working with Rats in Research Settings.

An elected position under the Legislative Branch in the Undergraduate Student Government Senate. Responsible for representing the views and opinions of the university's 16,000 students. During my year serving on the Senate, we were responsible for a budget of approximately $1.6M each semester and were able to fund over 700 legislative requests.
