I am a fourth-year student in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida.  During my first two and a half years at FAU I was studying with the intention of becoming a team sports psychologist.  It was during the spring 2016 semester where an interest peaked in a pharmacy career when the lecture topic touched on the routes of administration, distribution, metabolizing and elimination of drugs.  It made me realize that pharmacists require a unique type of knowledge and have the ability to impact patients more frequently than a regular physician.  In addition, I played baseball for nearly 20 years up to the collegiate level and was able to develop my interpersonal and leadership skills during this time.  After my playing was over I coached at a local high school for 4 seasons before starting pharmacy school.  Playing and coaching made me understand I deal with people (especially younger aged) well and have the potential to manage a community pharmacy or work in a pediatric setting.  I am able to establish genuine connections with a diverse group of people which I believe will serve me well when giving advice to patients or patient’s guardian in the future.  When not studying, I enjoy playing sports such as basketball, golf, fishing and hanging out with my dog, Archie.
