Technical Adviser at ITOPF, a leading provider of scientific expertise and advice to ship-source pollution incidents. I provide objective scientific advice on site or remotely on oil spills and other marine pollution incidents around the world to the shipping industry, local communities and emergency oil spill responders. Since joining ITOPF, I have attended a number of incidents worldwide including the widely publicised 2019 Northeast Brazil Mystery Spill, the 2020 WAKASHIO spill in Mauritius and the 2021 X-PRESS PEARL incident in Sri Lanka.Prior to this, I completed a PhD in atmospheric chemistry at King's College, University of Cambridge studying volatile compound emissions from vegetation, with a focus on novel instrument development and field measurements. My undergraduate was at the University of Edinburgh and was in chemistry.In general, I find myself passionate about the environment, technology, the worlds oceans, shipping, biology and learning about the Earth.
