I also engage with the community to share updates, promote features, enhancements, products, and events.
Marketing And Communications
I ran the Marketing and Communications for the National Videogame Museum, and the charity for Games Culture, the BGI.- Developed and implemented the full marketing strategy for a National attraction that now welcomes over 40,000 visitors per year.- Increased annual visitor footfall into the museum by approx 20% prior to Covid-19. Since reopening after lockdown, my efforts led to increased growth - something virtually unheard of in hospitality in 2021.- Won multiple awards as a part of the NVM team, including Best Hospitality Venue at the 2021 Sheffield Business Awards. - Developed PR strategy that saw us featured in major National and Industry-focused outlets, including Good Morning Britain and Children in Need.- Increased social media account followers by 250%, and monthly organic reach by 400%.- Still unbeaten on Team Sonic Racing, despite many attempts to de-throne me.During the Coronavirus lockdown, I was part of a small team that ran a fundraiser to keep the organisation from closing. We successfully raised over £200,000 - more than 250% of our original target. This campaign saw support from thousands of members of the public, and many high profile Game Developers such as Rockstar Games and Sumo Digital. This saved the organisation from permanent closure.Alongside running this campaign, I also: - Facilitated a rebrand of the National Videogame Museum (NVM) assets. - Project managed the implementation and integration of an organisation-wide CRM system (Beacon). - Successfully launched a new NVM website on a new hosting platform. - Ran a community podcast that united Sheffield gaming-related businesses. - Produced an online education programme that saw us win a national Kids In Museums award. - Produce an online academic conference, GamesEd20, and assisted on a nationwide games careers festival that reached over 37,000 people in its inaugural year, GamesCareersWeek. - Produced GameCity Adventures, a family-friendly games festival in Sheffield.
