Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship is a course required to be taken by every first year student at Babson College. In this class the student learns everything he/she needs to be able to run a business. Then in the second semster, the students start and run their own business. Each FME class has 60 students, far more than the average class size at Babson. Each class has to professors and two FME Mentors. I am an FME mentor and my job is to help the students with any and all problems that they encounter throughout the course. The job is highly respected on campus and only eighteen students get the position.

As an Assurance intern at PwC I learned valuable auditing skills. I was involved on a team as they completed an audit in the Asset Management market team and was actively involved in the work done. I learned about the firm, the work they do and what it is like to work full time at the firm.

Responsibilities included managing a $30,000 annual budget.

Act as a peer mediator, community director, campus policy enforcer, student resource and advisor.Coordinate educational, cultural and social programs for 64 undergraduate residents.

Starting in May of 2010 after I returned from school I began a position as a technician. I did mostly oil changes, tire rotations, mounting and balancing of tires, and changing head and tail lights. Not only did I learn a lot about cars but also I learned a lot about a service industry and making the customer happy. I found this job to be both physically exhausting and also educational.

E-Z Wash Bag was a business started in the Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship program at Babson College. I was part of the finance team for E-Z Wash Bags. As a business we produced a 32% ROI in just over 12 weeks of operation. We then donated our $700 of profit to charity. Through this job I learned a lot about accounting software and also about the problems that occur in a business. Overall it was a great experience.

I spent the summer after my senior year of high school as a detail associate in the detail department of Lynch Toyota. In this position, I learned how to clean a car both inside and out so that it looked brand new. This job showed me a lot of things but one thing I definitely took away from it was that I needed to do well in school. That was not a job that I want for the rest of my life.
