Over the past few years I have transitioned from "on premise" environments to cloud environments. Adopting infrastructure as code methodologies has changed how I think about infrastructure. Great interpersonal skills. I have had the opportunity to onboard 100s of people and have worked closely with many highly technical and non technical teams and can distil and relay technical information to non technical colleaguesI love working with teams to improve their efficiency and cloud adoption.When I am not in the cloud I enjoy Motorsport, Technology, Cars and running the South East AWS User Group.

Moved the organisation towards a "cloud first" strategy, this allowed us to better execute on our vision and avoid undifferentiated heavy lifting. Introduced infrastructure as code and worked closely with product and data science teams to design robust, secure and modular infrastructure patterns that were reused across the organisation.Oversaw a project to move entire legacy infrastructure into our new multi account, best practices terraform defined architecture. Fostered and promoted good security practices across the organisation.Implemented many continuous compliance / security initiatives including a system that would perform audits of all AWS accounts and report findings to a central Security account.Oversaw Cloud Cost Management Implemented serverless applications that integrated with / orchestrated AWS services.Worked closely with an incredibly strong platform team from diverse backgrounds. I learned a huge amount and it helped me to massively improve the "dev" in my devops skillset.

Journal Media's publications have over 400 thousand daily active users. At its core it is a LEMP stack hosted in AWS. I took complete ownership of the infrastructure in early 2014. I Introduced configuration as code, tightly coupled development / staging / production environments, VPC, Multi AZ, Auto Scaling, Deployment, Monitoring and Metrics. We went from 2 monolithic apps to 20+ microservices. Long term availability three 9sI designed and implemented a highly available master / slave WAN / LAN Office network as well as a highly available Linux File Server / Domain Controller. Complete ownership of all office IT including procurement, provisioning, deployment and decommissioning.
