Initially a 6 month contract, the role involved working in an Agile Software team supporting the “Trading” function. Duties included: Continuous improvement of applications including some major enhancements, regular patching, migrating legacy applications to Azure. Performance tuning for C#, PLSQL, and K8s was a regular requirement. Over the last 18 months WinForms Blotters were being replaced with Web Blotters. As the team lost staff to those projects, BAU was left in my safe hands.

A short term contract to convert the Insurance Company’s “Next Best Action” sales system from an old MS Access database to a modern C# MVC web application with a SQL Server backend. My first project involved working in a team of specialists, onsite at an investment bank (FNZ) as the last line of support for over 200 business critical applications. After one year, I was reassigned technical lead of a government criminal justice performance metrics system build. The project was implemented on time and within budget despite a substantial change to the requirements very late in the implementation.
