While working at Seqens I have further developed my skills analyzing a wide variety of compounds using techniques such as TLC and instruments like HPLC. I also expanded my laboratory work beyond synthesis into other forms of chemistry, natural-product extractions and polymerizations, along with purifying techniques, crystallizations and silica columns both handpacked and on Biotage systems. In 2023 I helped secure a GMP contract for 2024 with the R&D work I did on a novel polymer. I have also learned a lot about equipment setups for reactions, distillations, crystallizations, etc. at a variety of levels: 1L, 5L, 20L, 50L, 100L.As an undergraduate, I have over two years of research experience in a neuroscience/developmental biology lab along with 2 years of organic chemistry lab work. I spent my lab time synthesizing and analyzing various compounds using various instruments. I also studied geography, which gave me fieldwork skills such as mapping and surveying sites. Over that time, I have accumulated a large number of skills that are useful in laboratory settings.
