I began volunteering at the club as an assistant (picking up cones!) to the Head Coach whilst I was part of the performance squad. Then, my coach recommended that I should go for the Level 1 LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) Coaching Qualification. From there I didn't look back! I went on to complete the training and passed the Level 2 Coaching qualification the following year.As a Level 2 Coach, I was second in command at the club! As well as this, I would be coaching four days a week with multi- aged, ability and gender groups. It was a fantastic opportunity to discover my organisational, time- keeping and communication skills. As I had a very strong passion for the sport and coaching, it was a welcomed opportunity to experience the different types of communication when dealing with parents and committee members! This is a skill that I pride myself on, and being able to develop new strategies with dealing with a wide range of people under pressure at a young age has prepared me very well for the further opportunities that I went on to take!
