Hi there,Thanks for looking at my profile! My name is Conor. I consider myself a good worker who is always looking for evidence-based improvement. My previous roles in stakeholder engagement and as a project officer has helped me find my passion for fact finding from clients and customers or users of a service and providing the information for its execution.I am a firm believer that engagement with any audience needs to be transparent, tailored to the situation, as objective as humanly possible and most importantly, achieve a worthwhile outcome. If we are going to ask people for their time to share their thoughts, we need to make sure we want to find this out and not just tick boxes.Good project planning is crucial to ensure outcomes and stability. Flexibility is important but a good project depends on knowing your brief and having a structure on how to get there. You need to define your sandpit before you play in it. Otherwise, the risk is far to high for things to unravel.I enjoy working in an open culture where everyone is respected and am always looking for a reason to laugh with colleagues to make the day a bit easier.Liverpool football club, punk rock and Ireland are my first loves!

Work From Home
In this role I was hired mid project as there was a staffing change. This involved me needing to hit the ground running with customers who had been waiting while my position was filled.I was given a project brief and loose structure to deliver connectivity and capacity building skills during the pandemic. I had a deadline that I needed to deliver a certain number of events in time for.The project I inherited saw me organise a group of members into interest groups based on mutual mentoring principals. My role was to organise the groups to be self-sustaining with as little input and steering from me as possible. This challenged my skills in dealing with different personalities and trying to structure group agreements to keep things on track with a light touch from myself. The goal was to connect people who may otherwise be isolated during the pandemic while providing a space for them to capacity build around an interest of theirs.I was also asked upon commencing in this organisation to take over another open-ended project of peer connection and set it up as a self-sustaining system. This also included marketing and promotion as well as facilitation training to peers. This was a unique challenge to balance both projects at the same time, one with deadlines and another without. When these projects ended or were handed over at the end of the year, I was asked to move into a project to improve the outcomes of blind or vision impaired job seekers. Our project team aims to capacity build with job seekers and with businesses who may have perceptions about hiring disabled workers that are not based in current reality. The goal of this program is to provide education and to place job seekers in paid work so they and the business can gain experience on what is possible.

In this role I participated in internal and external consultation. This took the form of organisational departments wishing to survey or conduct research with clients. They would come to me with their goal. I would then recommend the best method of engagement based on their needs and the specific qualities of the intended demographic. For example, online surveys are useful for people who are on computers or phones but not for people more elderly or people who require capacity building.I would then in conjunction with the instigating team develop questions or events to procure this information as best as possible. This also included providing incentives to increase engagement outcomes from traditionally disconnected groups. At times I may be required to facilitate focus groups and direct discussion toward evidence finding. In some cases, the instigating team would require the raw data and in other situations I would compile, analyse, and then recommend to the team based on the evidence compiled. They will then choose what to do.I also like to close the loop with who I have engaged with to ensure that they know what their information was used for and that it was not disappearing into a black hole.I would also provide the same service to outside organisations who wished to use our clients feedback to change service provision. In this case this would also include issuing project paperwork and agreements between my organisation and the other before we move on to the implementation stage of the project.

Within several months of commencing in my graduate position I was made project lead ahead of more experienced peers regarding encouraging more engagement and participation with the organisation with youth clients. This eight-month project developed my leadership, budgeting, delegation, and people skills particularly when faced with working group members from within the organisation who took my lack of experience with apprehension. Project was completed on time resulting in an online platform designed and administrated with consultation of our youth cohort.I also undertook work experience and research of related and unrelated departments within the organisation to understand where my team and department contributed to the overall mission of the organisation. This allowed me to identify inefficiencies and raise them where necessary.
