Chief Sustainability Officer
CurrentReporting directly to the CEO, as IPL’s Chief Sustainability Officer, I am responsible for the following activities:• Development and delivery of a multi-year sustainability/ESG strategy;• Directing attention to sustainability/ESG issues that have a substantial impact on both our long-term value and risk profile;• Through the climate-transition lens, identifying and developing strategic customer relationships that deliver both commercial opportunities and climate reduction benefits to both entities;• Aligning with broader corporate strategy-making to help focus on longer-term value creation;• Facilitating constructive discussions with key stakeholders about the trade-offs that exist among the wider corporate interests;• Actively engaging with investors, rating agencies, and regulators in order to explain/demonstrate how our sustainability efforts contribute to value creation for our organisation and the wider circular economy;• Enhancing the integration of the CSO function across other Executive functions and the Board, incorporating it into strategy discussions and capital spending plans; and• Coordinating/embedding the 2023 IFRS sustainability-related financial disclosures (S1 and S2), Corporate Sustainability Disclosure Regulations (EU CSRD), and the pending SEC ruling on climate-related disclosures to manage both risks and opportunities to the organisation.
