Sourcing the placement myself for my co-operative work experience, I undertook the role of student engineer with Ireland’s largest construction company on the new A&E and Renal Dialysis fit-out project. Responsible for external works in my first month including inspection of reinforcement, leveling surveys, setting out and quality control. Became package owner for the partition systems and moved to the fit-out section of the project. Resulted in me being over the wall and ceiling closures system, interacting with a large number of sub-contractors, planning the zones to be completed next, monitoring of progress & safety on site and coordinating mechanical and electrical services.
