At my core I am a problem solver. Strategic problems, analytic problems, engineering problems, management problems, I love them all. I also love working in small, talented teams, either within a bigger org or at a small company. Doing so gives me the chance to sit at the nexus of my favorite type of problem, interdisciplinary problems, which require analytic, data, product, and design skills to solve. I've spent 14 years building up exactly these kind of teams for mission driven orgs.I'm also a constant student. Technology is progressing faster than it ever has, and it's essential to learn to keep up. Currently that means learning a lot about and thinking about how to integrate the current wave of AI tools into the business flows of the groups I work with, or how to wrangle your own internal data to get the most out of AI and machine learning tools. Graduate StudentUc Berkeley 2002 - 2008Berkeley, Ca, UsMy PhD thesis covered a range of topics centered on Io, one of the moons of Jupiter. Using data taken at the W. M. Keck telescope in Hawaii, I studied volcanic eruptions, the atmosphere and mapped sulfur dioxide ice distributions to better understand the internal workings of this enigmatic moon. I also worked on a paper that discovered hydrocarbon drizzle on Titan, a moon of Saturn.
