I developed a design process for cross-laminated timber (CLT) buildings in high-seismic regions as they would be designed in practice. The design follows ASCE 7-10, NDS 2015, and the CLT Handbook. AxisVM software was used to run a non-linear overturning analysis on the design. The main feature of the design is an anchor-tie down system used to resist global overturning, while also being able to ignore local overturning of shear walls, thus saving costs in detailing, construction time, and materials.

I improved simulations of near-fault pulse-like ground motions for use in a study relating ground motion simulation accuracy to building damage.I also spent time developing building stock reports for various countries. The purpose of the reports was to provide a brief summary of a country's building stock and past earthquake history that would prepare an engineer for a reconnaissance trip after an earthquake.

My main role was to generate PLS-CADD models of Xcel Energy transmission lines. Responsibilities included modeling wood pole structures, creating plan and profile drawings, and assigning information to the models based on surveying data and any available and obtainable information.

I was a member of the 8-person Colorado School of Mines Steel Bridge Team. We placed 1st overall and 1st in lightness at the Rocky Mountain Regionals. We placed 17th (out of 50) at Nationals in Akron Ohio, which is the second best result Mines has ever achieved. My main roles were the structural design of the bridge and overseeing fabrication.

I worked on a paper analyzing the characteristics of the underground construction and tunneling workforce. The results were presented at the 2014 North American Tunneling Conference.I also laid the groundwork for an interactive Google Earth application that would show users various major tunneling projects throughout the United States.
