I lead Spirit's sustainability program, where we leverage our technical expertise, project management skills, and knowledge of industry best practices to deliver ambitiously practical solutions for our clients. From Sustainability (ESG) Reporting, Built Environment Certifications, and Strategic Planning to leveraging our air quality, environmental conditions assessments, and regulatory skill-sets, we provide a world-class suite of sustainability services.Whether developing specific sustainability implementation efforts side by side with your team or providing 3rd party assurance of GHG and ESG metrics, we use our knowledge of industrial processes and sustainability frameworks to help devise and develop solutions in addition to providing specific project assistance.

Integral part of Brendle Group's sustainability planning and management team building on leadership in community sustainability efforts and providing expertise and support across core areas of climate, water, energy, and sustainable buildings. I led our Denver office and assisted high profile public sector clients with complex planning efforts, ensured that a strong framework for implementation was included in each project, and provided ongoing performance support wherever practical. With the vision to see what's coming as well as to identify any critical elements that may be overlooked in existing efforts, I specialized in adding additional value while delivering completely and effectively.

C² provided consulting on a wide variety of sustainability projects in the built environment. From affordable housing and neighborhood development to energy management and finance, C² provided the analysis and expertise to ensure great ideas can be implemented effectively. Specialties include LEED certification (especially LEED-ND), Green Communities Certification, Energy Efficiency Finance and Project Management.

Led multiple sections of junior year planning studio for Environmental Design (ENVD) school undergraduates. Focus was on scaling up prior experiences with particular emphasis on density, transportation, and green infrastructure.

Managed the Energy Performance Contracting Program, High Performance Building Program, Main Street Energy Efficiency Initiative, K-12 Energy Efficiency Program and Industrial Challenge Program for the state, as well as overseeing the Measurement and Verification contract for energy savings of ARRA-funded GEO programs. Developed and optimized several new programs and initiatives while managing a team of direct reports and consultants. Additional non-programmatic duties include serving on the revolving loan fund committee, policy development, and interfacing with other state agencies.

Worked with development project teams on the application of sustainability principles through LEED certification and master planning. Led multiple projects, primarily certifying under LEED ND, and assisted colleagues on projects in at least four other LEED rating systems. In addition, worked to develop LEEDuser.com and provided other project analysis.

C² started as an independent consulting company based on client demand formed out of grad school, grew to a partnership in October 2007 to handle larger LEED (especially ND) and energy efficiency projects, and dissolved on my being recruited by YRG.

Participated in all aspects of the city planning process, especially involved in the Transit Village Area Plan. Authored a report on the feasibility of a Green Tech Park in the area that is included as an appendix to the plan, and supported a variety of additional projects.

Intern with development team, promoted Holiday neighborhood in Boulder; worked on a number of new development opportunities as well as supporting project managers.

Built Eco-friendly strawbale homes from the ground up. Did everything from framing to wiring, project management and procurement. Built/worked on projects in Longmont, Crestone, Boulder, Breckenridge, and Fort Collins.
