I conduct original policy research and provide commentary on a range of educational topics, including English learner students, children of immigrants, urban education reforms, early education, and charter schools. I also run The Century Foundation's EL Virtual Learning Forum, serve as a partner with the Children's Equity Project, and participate in the National Conference of State Legislature's State Policy and Research for Early Education (SPREE) Working Group.

I write biweekly columns on education, policy, and politics for The 74.

I taught Education and Public Policy (EDU-634) in American University's School of Education. As part of this work, I designed an in-person version of the course and summarily converted it for online instruction. I taught the online version in Spring and Summer of 2018.

I wrote, edited, and conducted research as part of New America's Education Policy Program. I also founded New America's Dual Language Learners National Work Group.

Proposed, wrote, and defended a book-length manuscript on how twentieth century pluralism changes the structure of political arguments.
