After two decades leading teams as a professional yachtsman through some of the most challenging and hostile conditions on our planet, I founded Sport Environment, a purpose driven creative consultancy that helps brands and teams to communicate their stories. In addition, Blue Environment, a non-profit that innovates in environment and ocean health. Combining my passion for sport and the environment has enabled me to work with some incredible people and organisations that are at the cutting edge when it comes to using the power of sport to create both social and environmental change. As a business and motivational speaker, my focus is on leading with impact and purpose combining the leadership experiences I learnt as the youngest winning skipper of the “World’s toughest yacht race” with the personal attributes for leading remote teams during the Vendee Globe. More recently, I was the professional skipper in the award winning TV documentary series, Mutiny for Channel 4, where nine crew survived a 4000 mile open boat journey across the South Pacific. I’ve developed a multi-disciplinary approach to sharing these incredible stories (both live and online) and have a real passion for designing innovative workshops that challenge, disrupt and inspire teams to deal with adversity. On this page, I will talk about sport, leadership, purpose, culture, values and the art of telling stories to inspire change, but we also have an experiential business for teams and leaders that would like to explore strategy and team-building in an outdoor setting.
