With its iconic zig-zag styling and intricate facade, the Tower Petroleum Building immediately became a hallmark of the Dallas skyline.In the first two decades of its life, the Tower Petroleum Building also acted as the central hub for the Dallas Theatre Row and the city's arts community. During the 1930's and 1940's people traveled across Texas to catch a show at the property's Tower Theater, which was just behind the Tower Petroleum Building, to see some of Dallas's most exciting and majestic productions. In 1951, the Tower Theatre drew the curtain for the final time, and the Corrigan Tower replaced the beloved Tower Theater.The building's 12th floor was also home to the FBI from 1937 to 1943.Introducing Cambria Dallas DowntownNow fast forward to 2016 when Choice Hotels announced its plans for the Cambria Dallas Downtown, an upscale but never uptight hotel for the modern business travel.
