It is the opposite of vulgarity.”The considerations that led to the creation of the installation for the Republic of South Sudan have been inspired by fashion designer Coco Chanel’s famous quote.“Luxury” is an illusion for a population that, due to the ongoing conflict, has reached the number of 2.3 million displaced people, an infant mortality rate of 93 children per 1,000 before the age of five, endemic food shortages, lack of water supply and almost non-existent health care facilities with the exception of the socially committed ONGs.Poverty, of ideals and values, which isolate our modern society in the rhetoric of unbridled consumption, hedonistic and indifferent to the world’s humanitarian disasters.Vulgarity, of those who often feign ignorance and when they can they do not even join.This reflection that draws more strength from Pope Francis’ message “Overcome indifference and win peace” for the celebration of the XLIX World Day of Peace 2016.War - Water - Food - HealthThe material representation of the installation is realized in mixed technique, it emphasizes subjects of universal value; the current humanitarian disaster taking place in the Republic of South Sudan and the need for dignity that this population deserves.The installation, created by Woman Point Digital Collective, is part of the project entitled "Communicating for the Non-profits", which was launched by the Creative Team during EXPO Milano 2015.
