Labor and delivery RN. Responsible for monitoring patient condition, fetal heart tones and labor progression. Assists at deliveries and monitors patient and her infant during the recovery period.Responsible for vital signs and proper banding/identification of infants as well as patient education regarding postpartum, infant care, and breastfeeding.Circulates cesarean sections and monitors postoperative patients. Trained to assist surgeon during cesarean section if no scrub tech available.Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) as well as collaborating with the healthcare team with the ultimate goal of safe, excellent patient care.
