Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a FAC (Fifth Avenue Committee) affiliated organization with a focus on tenant advocacy and organizational work. As an intern I conduct research and outreach for potential new tenant associations, work with individuals who need assistance in finding and applying for affordable housing or rent subsidies, assist tenants who have difficulties with their landlord and/or their apartments, and collaborate with the Brooklyn Tenants United (BTU) to plan and create a newsletter about housing issues, advocacy campaigns and events.

The Diversity Awareness Initiative For Students (DAIS) is a citywide student run organization where we discuss topics involving equity and social justice. The Core Leadership is a small group of elected EC (Executive Committee) members who work directly with the DAIS adult advisers. Responsibilities: - Leading the Executive Committee in planning of activities and agenda for each monthly general meeting. - Planning committees and scheduling DAIS's annual conference.- Working with the DAIS adult advisers towards the overall growth, stability and future of the organization.

Umoja is a safe space for black students to discuss black culture, black excellence, the black diaspora and the issues within and outside of the black community. I planned weekly events and activities such as retreats, barbecues, dancehalls, and school-wide assemblies. I facilitated discussions and healing circles in order to create a safe space for Black students at Brearley.

The Telluride Association Summer Seminars (TASS) are six-week educational experiences for high school sophomores and juniors. I participated in the "Black Protest from Slavery to #BlackLivesMatter" seminar. In it I critically consumed and analyzed a cannon of African American texts, narrative, memoir, essay, speeches, poetry, and film. I authored narrative essays and discussed authoritatively the history of black cultural production in the US.

I learned Python and gained exposure to topics including earthquakes, climate change, astrophysics, molecular genetics and paleo neuroscience.

I received exposure to Artificial Intelligence topics through faculty lectures and field trips, and an in-depth experience with a research area through hands-on projects. I am currently in an AI4ALL focus group thats purpose is to explore the Social and Ethical Implications of AI.

TKS is a human accelerator/incubator designed to mimic the learning environments of Google, Facebook, Y Combinator, MIT and Stanford. At TKS I am learning about the most cutting-edge innovations from AI, Genomics, Quantum Computing, Blockchain to Nanotechnology and how to use them effectively.
