The packages, Red Line North comprise over 13km twin-bore tunnels and seven underground stations in addition to two major flagship interchange stations up to 40m deep in highly urban environment. P260 Midfield Concourse, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), Hong Kong – Six month assignment for Mott MacDonald Hong Kong; as structural engineer involved in the detailed design of the superstructure and foundation of Midfield Concourse, comprised 19 fixed link bridges and ancillary buildings.

Heathrow Terminal 2 Concourse B Phase 2 – Project comprises a new satellite pier to be connected to the new Terminal T2A, which is replacing existing T2 and the Queen’s Building as part of the £2bn Eastern Campus programme of development. Assistant engineer responsible for detailed design of the internal substructure comprised in 3 sub-structure levels for TTS systems, flight connections and baggage handling basements.

Secondment to Doosan Babcock Energy, Ratcliffe Power Station – SCR – Project engineer involved in the design of the structural supports for a new Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system attached to an existing boiler house. Work included detailed steel design using Staad-pro software. Belfast Schools Public Private Partnership (Ashfield Girls School, Girls Model School, Grosvenor Grammar School) – Project structural engineer responsible for modelling three new secondary schools as part of the Belfast Schools Phase 1 public private partnership (PPP). The schools range from 650–950 pupils and two to three storeys high. The structures comprise steel frames with pre-cast hollowcore slabs. The schools were modelled using CSC Building Designer. The construction value for the three schools is approximately £60million. NWP Glenside, Recycling Facility – Structural lead engineer responsible for the detailed design of the superstructure. The frame comprised a single story steel structure approximately 120x50m on plan. Also responsible for the design and preparation of drawings for the reinforced concrete floor slabs, push walls, tunnel walls and associated suspended slabs, that support the 1550m2 self-contained bio-filter structure. Approximate value of development is £7.5 million. Musgrave Street Police Station and Multistorey Car Park – Structural engineer responsible for the detailed design of the superstructure. The building is a five-storey hardened structure (the building was hardened using concrete panels, which resist will a blast in the event of an explosion). The building was supported on CFA piled foundations, which were also used to provide geothermal heating and cooling via heating loops in the piles.Belfast Metropolitan College at Titanic Quarter – Project structural engineer involved in the design of the superstructure of a new five-storey college campus at Titanic Quarter in Belfast. The approximate cost of the building is £45 million.

Main duties and responsibilities included the design of new reinforced concrete framed buildings, and refurbishment of old masonry structures in order to meet current seismic requirements for Romania. Palas Development (Buildings A5 and E5) – Graduate structural engineer, part of a team involved in the design of several reinforced concrete buildings part of the Palas Commercial/Retail Development. The buildings comprised offices, residential accommodation and underground parking. Responsible for the design of the foundations using Prokon and superstructure using Robot Millenium. Prepared floor layout drawings and detailed the reinforced concrete elements. The A5 building was a four-storey structure with underground parking. The structure comprised reinforced concrete diaphragms mixed with precast girders that in turn support pre-stressed hollow core slabs. The E5 building was a two-storey structure, comprising two levels of car parking below ground level and two floors occupied by commercial and leisure facilities on upper floors. The structure comprises a reinforced concrete frame supported on piled foundations. The total cost of the development was £220 million. Romanian Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation – Graduate engineer involved in the structural analysis of several existing masonry structures, for the purpose of refurbishment and to meet current seismic requirements. Commercial Complex Niciman, Iasi – Graduate engineer involved in producing general arrangement drawings and structural details for a three-storey building. The structure was a reinforced concrete frame supported on ground beams/piles. Several Residential Buildings, Romania – Graduate engineer involved in carrying out the hand calculations for structural members and the preparation of drawings for a number of small residential buildings. The structures typically comprise reinforced concrete frames with masonry infill panels.
