As the Quality Assurance Manager, I was responsible for the Quality and Compliance of the Licensed Port Perry Campus and setting up the licensed Vaughan Distribution Center. I lead the quality department in the full revision of the existing QMS program to align with the new Cannabis regulations and GPP requirements at the Port Perry Campus while creating from scratch an entirely new QMS program for the Distribution Center. Drove continuous improvement initiatives while seeking cost savings opportunities as they came up. Key experiences/successes:- Lead the revamp of the entire QMS program in 8 months.- Lead a successful Health Canada audit - Successfully completed the largest outdoor legal planting/harvest in Canadian history- Cultivated talent and expanded the quality department- Played a pivotal role in setting up the Licensed Vaughan Distribution Center, which I am the QAP for the site.

As the Food Safety Program Manager for Halifax and Moncton, my key responsibilities are to ensure compliance to all Canadian Regulations and ensuring compliance to all GFSI requirements for both sites. Involved in continuous improvement activities and leveraging influence, experience and knowledge between multifunctional teams to ensuring a consistent and effective approach is taken in addressing all food safety related challenges.

As the Food Safety Programs Manager for the Halifax OpCo, my responsibilities involve leading internal and external GFSI audits, quality program developments, process/program enhancement initiatives, and act as the direct liaison between government agencies relating to Food Safety as well as being a key member of the OpCo's recall team.Achievements:- Through hard work, team work and leadership, I lead the Halifax operating company through the BRC audit and obtained the highest grade possible - Grade A. - I lead our operating company to become one of the top 10 OpCo in Canada through internal KPI measurements.- Driving positive change initiatives throughout different departments, I have continued to drive success in the improvement of our Food Safety Programs.

Sitting on the Quality and Health and Safety Steering committees, I am given the opportunity to make valuable and positive changes to our policies and programs in our Halifax Facility.Achievements:- Within the first 5 months of starting my position, I helped lead two external audits and helped Halifax's Division to achieve their highest marks ever obtained in these audits.- I spearheaded process improvement initiatives with positive results.- Met and resolved quality challenges with positive outcomes and noticeable process improvements made along the way.- Continuing to analyze gaps in the quality program and closing these gaps as quickly and efficiently as possible.

High Liner Foods is the largest value added seafood company in Canada and has been positioning itself to becoming the largest value added seafood company in North America. Hired as the Quality Assurance Technician then later becoming the Quality Assurance Specialist, I saw increasing responsibilities through my tenure at HLF and was also the relief sanitation supervisor.Achievements:- Part of the quality team to create a master visual list of product defects for production line operators. The end goal was to increase the quality of product while increasing product yields by reducing unnecessary waste.- Spearheaded the initiative to offering quality training to production workers who would verify their production lines prior to start-up. Saw noticeable improvement in overall tidiness and quality awareness with production staff.- Lead customer illness complaint investigations, and created a template in which all future illness complaints are to be handled.

Tony's Meat's is a locally owned federally registered meat producing facility. Located in Antigonish, it was a federally registered abattoir which processed fresh cuts to ready-to-eat pork and lamb products. As the Product Development and Food Safety Specialist, my role included new product development, product innovations, maintaining quality systems, and auditing.Achievements:- Saw success in spearheading the company's initiative in reducing all ready-to-eat product's sodium levels to meet upcoming Sodium Initiative Regulations through reformulations using functional ingredients while maintaining the same flavour/sensory attributes and shelf-life of product.- Successfully updated and revised entire HACCP and FSEP food safety programs for the company.

Scotsburn Dairy Group is one of Atlantic Canada's largest dairy producers with products ranging from Milk and Ice Cream to Cheeses.Hired as a summer student tasked to support R&D processes in new product development and product improvement initiatives for the company.Achievements:- Devised and implemented a systems based; master ingredient list of thousands of ingredients with focus on the interpretation/location of the lot/date code for each product including their shelf-life.- Supported development of new ice cream flavours for third party customers for launch in the new year. Such flavours saw success in the market place the following year.
