Directs and manages the health delivery systems within the Community to ensure optimum quality of care and quality of life for all residents. Assists administration in the communication and assurance of adherence to all applicable regulations and policies and procedures. Provides direct assessment and documentation of resident needs. Hires, supervises and trains staff on health related duties and responsibilities. Monitor unit activities, communicate policies, evaluate performance, and provide feedback, and assist, coach, redirect, and discipline as needed. Maintain records and manage budgets. Promote all rules and regulations regarding residents’ rights; promote positive relationship with residents, visitors, and regulators, to include presenting a professional appearance. Plan and implement nursing orientation, job skills training, and in-service education programs in accordance with company policies and regulations. Ensure Universal Precautions procedures are followed. Ensure Infection Control procedures are followed. Developed and implemented an orientation program for nurses and certified nursing assists. Developed and implemented a leadership development workshop.

Functions as the in house administrator in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer and Nursing Directors. Coordinates and directs the allocation of nursing resources in the absence of the Clinical Directors and serves as a communication link for patients, families, visitors, physicians, and referral services. Coordinates with nursing leadership to assure 24 hour management and leadership of hospital staff, locates material resources as needed for patient care.
