About Constancio ‘Consti’ Fernandes

I am a seasoned, hands-on software engineering leader with expertise and experience in leading agile software development teams at large organizations as well as early stage startups. I have staffed, coached and mentored high performance engineering teams for products developed ground up as well for re-imagining existing products to sustain and grow revenue.I have acquired rich knowledge from my experience in leading teams building full stack, enterprise class, SaaS as well as traditional solutions across multiple development platforms. I enjoy developing & mentoring strong technical leaders as well as coaching & nurturing interns. At Symantec, I lead product engineering & cloud operations for Cloud Workload Protection (CWP), a cyber security SaaS offering for DevSecOps to protect cloud application IaaS infrastructure. I led the CWP product from concept to delivery and drove customer proof of concepts to close large sales deals. I led the transformation of a traditional software dev team to one that releases code at cloud speed and trained the technical sales team to sell to a very technical and DevOps savvy buyer. CWP was one of the first cloud products at Symantec that ran in public cloud, first product to offer consumption-based pricing, AWS competency certified and listed in AWS SaaS market place. My role at Symantec extended beyond engineering to include product management, defining product roadmaps that are customer driven and visionary. In my current role, I developed strong relationship with cloud security architects and leads at large enterprises globally as well as with counterparts at Cloud Service Providers.I have strong AWS, Azure, Google & Oracle Cloud experience including hands on development with AWS IaaS and PaaS services such as VPC, EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, Athena and Alexa. Prior to Symantec US, I led India based dev teams for US based startups in eGRC & IT GRC space. Startups ‘Entevo’ & ‘Approva’ were acquired by ‘BindView’ & ‘Infor’.
