Founder of Connexion Quebec Public Affairs, Jennifer C. Crane is a public affairs professional with 25 years experience in applied politics, government relations, advocacy and media relations. Born and raised in Montreal, she holds an M.A. in Public Policy and Public Administration and a B.A. in Political Science with a double specialization in Canadian Politics and International Relations from Concordia University. Prior to returning to her consulting business, she served as Director of Quebec Government Relations for a major English-language pan-provincial advocacy group between 2019-2021.

I am a public affairs professional who offers two decades’ of government relations, advocacy, campaign management, media relations and applied political experience.I have worked with all levels of government, as well as for the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Most recently, I leveraged my considerable Quebec government, municipal administration and stakeholder network as Director of Quebec Government Relations for the provincial umbrella organization representing English-speaking community organizations. I was offered the position of Director of Quebec Government Relations having served as a consultant, coordinating and advising the organization’s electoral committee for the 2018 provincial elections. It was a Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise funded position with associated research-related deliverables.A series of Community Conversations was rolled out between 2020-21• A community research showcase featuring presentations on various projects across Quebec, including specialized research on how COVID-19 was affecting English-speaking Quebecers• A municipal affairs panel featuring numerous elected officials from across Quebec• An Information Strategy for English-speaking QuebecersI developed a strategic map of Quebec’s nearly 100 Section 29.1 exempt municipalities with critical statistics, organized by federal riding with percentage of English-speakers, provincial riding with percentage of English-speakers, Administrative Region, MRC, Agglomeration, etc., with websites and social media sites.I created a stand-alone Quebec Government Relations directorate with minimal guidance, enhanced limited organizational political provincial knowledge; and brought crisis communications experience to the fore with the conceptualization of the QCGN COVID-19 Hub, which was then populated by various directoratesI put my vast network to use in organizing early meetings with the Premier of Quebec, a hugely successful reception for MNAs and community stakeholders, and arranging strategic introductions with key stakeholders in the majority francophone political sector.I ended my mandate as a salaried employee reporting directly to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors making recommendations on:1. Municipal Affairs and implications for the English-speaking Community of Quebec2. Government Relations Strategies and Tactics for Quebec’s English-speaking community, including a comprehensive organizational SWOT analysis.
