When having to face mental health issues within her family, she was humbled in recognizing her own issues and became a passionate and determined advocate in defining meaningful therapeutic processes of creating positive and purposeful emotional resolve within families. Mona’s unquestionable passion for other families, based on her own life, evolved and grew, and in 2008, she launched her latest and perhaps her greatest challenge yet – an independent mental health organization, “COOL FAMILY SOLUTIONS” in which she provides meaningful programs for families and teaches a “how to” approach in dealing with difficult situations. A pilot project, to-date, has been evidenced with an astounding 96% success rate, and supported by Thumbs Up Foundation, located in Airdrie, Alberta.Mona’s accolades include being a recipient of the prestigious “Governor General Sovereign’s Medal” as well as ONE of the 150 Leading Canadians for Mental Health who was recognized by the National Committee of CAMH Difference Makers, for all she does to make a difference mental health. Mona brings 23 years of practical and authentic experience through her facilitating family group sessions, developing sustainable recovery programs, and teaching insight and intuitive ability to break through chaotic family conditions and complex situations is evidenced in her programs which result in family cohesion in 10-weeks. She is a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid through the Mental Health Commission of Canada and she continues to enhance the existing family sessions to make a difference for individual families and workplace.
