South Pacific Including Tonga, Fiji

In 2006, West Direct Limited was re-branded to Akon Electrical Engineering Limited. In this time I was based primarily in Tonga, South Pacific.. I was engaged by Chillex Services International, to undertake the Electrical for Mechanical & Controls installation for the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) upgrade at the LDS Temple of Tonga. This project led on to many other sub-projects around the pacific, including a design/build contract for the water treatment at the LDS Temple in Suva, Fiji.My duties in this position included:• Recruitment of Staff in the islands, processing of wages, VAT compliance.• Procurement of international supplies, freight & logistics from Auckland to the South Pacific, including container shipping and dealing with multiple Port Authorities to clear cargo for collection.• Design and implementation of cabling routes, schematic diagrams, PLC programs, interfacing between other trades. • Wiring and installation of Honeywell Controls System, Schneider and Siemens PLC systems across an array of sites on different islands.• Day-to-day business management and job costings / reporting from some very hot and humid climates!
