Most recently, I was able to work with a local newly acquired construction company. Lead the efforts for conversion from QuickBooks to Trimble’s – Vista Viewpoint ERP system. Established weekly and monthly financial reports in effort to drive financial transparency and integrity within organization. Put together purchasing plan, with policies and procedures for company leadership. Established month end procedures, and revenue recognition for monthly closeout of books. Setup process to meet Davis Bacon and Certified Payroll requirements. Put together process to track outside rentals throughout company projects. Contracts and sub-contracts review and advise on verbiage. Setup compliance program to meet national, state and local requirements.

Led this newly acquired construction business with day-to-day accounting and financial leadership in the company with integrity and transparency. In addition to directing the finances, was also assigned with all HR duties and record keeping. Completed job site safety walks and site photography. Setup and management all financials to maintain GAAP compliance with development of solid financial policies and procedures, forecasts, implementing external reviews and driving the needed processes for monthly and yearly reporting and close of books. Work with outside agencies including Bank and Bonding relationships, establish revolving credit accounts with vendors, and setup the insurance and bonding for company projects. Supervise ongoing project processes including weekly payroll, AP and AR, as well as all scheduled tax payments to state, local and federal agencies. Developed and manage weekly labor reports with review.  Management of the Trimble Vista ERP and IT functions.  Subcontracts review and monthly payments through Subcontract Ledger. Equipment and asset setup, depreciation schedule, company rents. Manage job ads and all hiring procedures with safety and compliance indoctrinations.

Brought in as Director of Financial Reporting with a planned leadership track into CFO for this multiple-site engineering and manufacturing company specializing in advanced composites and metal parts, prototypes and tools. Concurrently, served as team lead and coordinator for the firm’s DCAA compliance efforts, as well as other legal requirements (FAR/CAS). Specific accountability over the company's Utah facility's financial health and risk mitigation.Key Wins: Converted the firm from a fixed planning rate to a labor band rate for projects, enabling more accurate future work estimates and better overhead rates. Reported monthly on bottom performing projects, advising owners and shareholders on recommended actions to revive performance or reduce financial risk. Delivered analysis and planning that helped company owners identify future facility needs and business opportunities.

Promoted into a hybrid senior leadership role (combining day-to-day finance, accounting and compliance) with accountability for key performance aspects of a complex, $770M floating bridge design and build project – the SR 520 Evergreen Point Floating Bridge and Landings – the world’s longest floating bridge that connects Seattle and the growing communities east of Lake Washington. Served as compliance lead throughout the project.Key Wins: Deployed a 16-step, platinum level compliance program capable of maintaining compliance across all government entities, across any N.A. project. Delivered accurate weekly and monthly financial reports to show project owners and JV partners project completion and profitability on an ongoing basis. Served as project lead through a complex job conversion to SAP ERP financial system.

Promoted and led finance, accounting and compliance aspects of the Brightwater Influent Pump station project (which had expanded to become a $110M project), as well as its sister project, the $200M Brightwater Treatment plant project. Managed a team of A/P, A/R and payroll personnel and oversaw subcontractors, change orders and payments.Key Wins: Led a technology conversion to SAP, with specific focus on HCM and Payroll. Delivered a $19.5% increase in contract value. Further strengthened relationships between union and non-union team members.

Supported construction of the $92M Brightwater Influent Pump Station in Bothell, WA, an integral part of King County’s Brightwater Treatment System. Stepped in during a period of underperformance in project accounting and compliance, and during which relationships with trade unions were strained. Key Wins: Restored project performance and communication among key stakeholders and established productive and amicable relationships with local trade unions, easing communications and issue resolution.
