When I first joined the organization I was responsible for helping integrate and troubleshoot various electrical systems on the vehicle. Some of the projects I worked on in this phase were designing and installing an electronic gear shifter into the car as well as performing EMI tests on the vehicle's high voltage systems. The gear shifter performed well and did not experience any malfunctions. The results of the EMI tests were reviewed by team leadership and included in the final technical report for that year.My role evolved into being more of an advisor by the time I was a Senior. I led a team of six students in an architecture study of a P0 motor configuration for a future vehicle. We performed simulations, generated CAD models, and calculated costs for two different P0 motor options. I assisted students with their tasks and provided feedback on their designs. These results were presented to team leadership and included in the architecture selection report. Ultimately, the P0 configuration was not selected, but the thorough investigation ensured that the decision was as well-informed as possible.

I was solely responsible for bringing four new test setups online. I designed the setups, purchased components, fabricated the racks, assembled the setups, and validated them. I used relays, contactors, and a network switch to remotely control 277/480V 3-phase lines. All oscilloscopes and power meters were connected to the network switch as well, which allowed all tests to be completed remotely. I was permitted to purchase materials and equipment at my discretion. In total, the the project cost over $1,000,000, most of which I was responsible for. The completed setups allowed the company to bring hundreds of tests in-house, saving an incalculable amount of money.

I started here during my sophomore year of college. During the school year I worked part-time and during the summer I worked full-time. I was in the substation department, where my main responsibility was to update existing drawings in AutoCAD as new projects occured. My work involved communicating with crew chiefs and a team of about a dozen engineers throughout all phases of the given project. I independently completed a large project in preparation for adding a new substation to our existing network.

Stusser Electric sells electrical equipment and fixtures for commercial applications. I started in the company warehouse where I pulled orders and wrapped them for delivery. I later moved into the office and assisted in job bidding. Next, I spent a few weeks helping design and install lighting control schemes for two new commercial locations. For the last part of the summer I assisted in reorganizing the warehouse to improve efficiency in pulling orders as well as maximizing shelf space.

I worked here for three summers during high school and into college. I gained experience with framing, roofing, concrete forming, pouring concrete, and various other construction processes. I consistently worked overtime to meet deadlines.
